Tweet It appears the first Blue Devil commit in the class of 2014 will be shooting guard Grayson Allen out of Jacksonville, Florida. The 6’4, 185 lb guard’s recruiting got hot and heavy quickly with the Duke offer and he wasted very little time in snatching it up. Allen brings a very adept shooting touch as well as an explosive and quick first step. He’s as dynamic a shooting guard as Duke has had in a while. Allen is the first commit in the class of 2014 Here is my earlier post with video. Committed!!! twitter.com/GraysonJAllen/… — Grayson Allen [ Read More ]
Tweet No surprise Duke has offered 2014 Shooting Guard Grayson Allen, he’s been on the radar for quite a while and has enhanced his game and slowly climbed the rankings. Allen is athletic, smart and has gotten much stronger. Allen has worked hard on his ball-handling and is able to play either guard spot, a trait that has always been a favorite of Coach K when recruiting guards. The versatility in Allen’s game would fit in at Duke but just as every other Duke recruit there are a bevy of heavy hitters also looking at Allen including Gonzaga, Texas, Cincinnati [ Read More ]
Tweet Jabari Parker, the nations number 2 high school basketball player had decided to verbally commit to Coach Mike Krzyzewski and the Duke University Blue Devils. Parker chose Duke over 4 others that include Michigan State, BYU, Florida and Stanford. Duke will add Parker to a class that already includes small forward Semi Ojeleye and sharpshooting Matt Jones. Parker will add size and scoring ability to an already stacked lineup in Durham next year. The Parker camp kept the information filtering out to the media to a minimum with no one truly knowing which school or schools were in the [ Read More ]
Tweet With Jabari Parker set to announce his college decision what does it mean for Duke? Jabari Parker arguably the best player in the 2013 class will be deciding his college choice on Thursday, December 20th, at Simeon High School. Parker will be choosing between Duke, Michigan State, Florida, BYU and Stanford. Parker deserves credit for making the process his own, his camp has kept things and chatter to a minimum and unlike most recruits there isn’t a sense of what school is in the lead. It’s seem to go back and forth between Duke and Michigan State but Parker [ Read More ]
Tweet Here is a little information on two Power Forward prospects that Duke is currently interested in for next year per my conversation with Alex Kline from http://www.TheRecruitScoop.com. Gavin Schilling is a versatile big man and still growing at 6’9. Currently working on getting stronger in preparation for college ball. Has a high basketball IQ and sense of the game. He also runs the floor well. Matthew Atewe is a skilled 4, with a big body. Really defensive minded, runs the floor well and can finish at the rim. Still raw and developing on the offensive end. Tweet With the season officially underway, here are some Duke points of interest. -The Duke New Devils -Veteran Leadership -QUINN Ready to COOK -Injury Bug Buzzes -Recruiting Hits, Misses and Hopefuls -Andre Dawkins THE DUKE NEW DEVILS Let’s start with the newcomers, Amile Jefferson and Rasheed Sulaimon. With these additions, Duke gets better on the defensive end; both players embrace the Duke ideal of strong and tough defense. Sulaimon will remind some of Nolan Smith with his on-the-ball defense as well as his ability to break his man down off the dribble. I expect Duke will turn over the opposition [ Read More ]
Tweet Some good news for the Devils came in the form of a verbal commitment from small forward Semi Ojeleye out of Kansas who committed to Duke after an in home visit with Coach K. Duke’s class is shaping up well with Matt Jones and Semi Ojeleye, Rodney Hood after redshirting and also hopefully a senior Andre Dawkins.
