It’s not uncommon for the Boston College Eagles to play Duke tough. In fact last year the Eagles hung an L on the Blue Devils in a game where Ky Bowman scored 3o points. Tonights game at Cameron looked as if it very well could be another dogfight for the Blue Devils. The Eagles benefited from from some lackluster shooting from the Blue Devils. Duke shot a paltry 31.6% from the field in the first half and 1-15 from 3 point range. Boston College aided in the bad shooting from the Blue Devils by being stout defensively and out-rebounding Coach K’s team 24-21. BC also shot 44% from beyond the arc in the first half to only 6% from the Blue Devils. The Eagles turned their spirited effort into a 2 point halftime lead.

The Blue Devils began the second half with a quick 8-0 run to recapture the lead. Duke pushed the lead to ten before going on a 24-14 run to put the game out of reach eventually winning 80-55. Once again Duke freshman Tre Jones was a defensive marvel holding the 3rd leading scorer in the ACC to 5-17 shooting and 11 points, Bowman averages 20.8 points per game. Jones also added 11 points, 3 assists and zero turnovers. Cam Reddish lead the Blue Devils in scoring with 24 points on 8-16 shooting – 4-11 from beyond the arc. The Blue Devils also got double-figure scoring efforts from freshman R.J. Barrett who scored 19 points and Zion Williamson, who scored 16 points and pulled down 17 rebounds.

For Boston College, in addition to Bowman’s 11 points, Nik Popovic scored 13 points and Jordan Chatman added 16 points on 4-9 shooting.
