DURHAM, N.C. — Duke senior Quinn Cook was named this week’s ACC Player of the Week, the conference office announced Monday. Cook garners the honor, which is selected by a panel of media members, for the first time this season and the second time in his career. Cook was also a two-time ACC Rookie of the Week during the 2011-12 campaign.

Cook averaged 21.5 points, 3.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.0 steals per game as Duke improved to 22-3 on the year with road wins over Florida State and Syracuse. The Washington, D.C., native played all 40 minutes in both games and shot .480 percent from the field and .867 percent from the free throw line. Cook opened the week with a season-high 26 points and four rebounds in the 73-70 win at Florida State. He was 8-of-15 (.533) from the field, including 4-of-9 (.444) from three-point range, and 6-of-7 (.857) from the foul line. Cook helped Duke overcome an 11-point first-half deficit in Saturday’s 80-72 win at Syracuse. He knocked down a pair of three-point field goals and was 7-of-8 (.875) from the foul line en route to a 17-point night. Cook also had three rebounds, five assists and two steals in the contest.

The Blue Devils return to Cameron Indoor Stadium Wednesday and are set to face in-state rival North Carolina. Tip is set for 9 p.m., with coverage on ESPN and the ACC Network.
