It took most of the month of May, some de-commitments, recommitments and departures but the lineup for your Duke Blue Devils going into next season appears to be set and locked. The latest news was the departure of Marques Bolden who will forego his final year of eligibility and begin his pursuit of playing in the pro’s. Bolden’s time at Duke has been filled with trials and tribulations, setbacks and comebacks. His tenure at Duke has been aided by his patience and his future career as a pro should also be aided by his resilience and steady progress. Being able to fully commit to basketball an only help the 6’11 Bolden on his quest.

Javin DeLaurier, another a rising senior, went through the draft process and undoubtedly learned a lot about his game and what he needs to improve on before attempting a pro career. Unlike Bolden, DeLaurier has ((apparently)) decided to withdraw his name from the process. As of right now there has been no official word from DeLaurier or the university but all signs are pointing to a return.

The Blue Devils will add freshmen Vernon Carey Jr., Matthew Hurt, Wendell Moore and Cassius Stanley. They retain sophomores Tre Jones and Joey Baker, juniors Jordan Goldwire and Alex O’Connell and seniors Javin DeLaurier and Jack White.

Later this week, I’ll talk about what each player brings to the table in terms of skillset and what to look forward to, at least theoretically, in terms of rotation.
