Sometimes I see or know a player that may not be someone who Duke is necessarily looking at but a player that for one reason or another I like. One such player is Hayden Shelton (@HSHELT0N). Hayden attends Apollo High School and plays his AAU ball with Southern Illinois Select.
1.) What do you think your strength is as a point guard?
My strengths as a point guard are ball handling and being a floor general.
2.) How did you do in your AAU season this year?
During AAU I played up with 16U this summer and averaged 21 PPG.
3.) How is the recruiting process going for you?
Recruiting is going smoothly right now. Albion, Air Force, Creighton, IUPUI, Miami (OH), Morehead State, Samford, South Alabama, and Wright State are the schools recruiting me now.
4.) Is there a school that is your favorite right now?
Right now it’s South Alabama
5.) Are you looking at schools close to home to attend or looking to get further away?
I’m looking to get away from home to play ball.
6.) Are you more of a scoring guard to distributor?
Yes I’m more scoring.
7.) Who is your favorite NBA player in the game today?
My favorite NBA player today is definitely James Harden.
8.) What areas of your game are you looking to develop or improve before the next level?
Definitely want to get a bigger body so I’m stronger and I need to improve my defense a little more.
