Coach Mike Krzyzewski and the Duke staff have landed their 4th commitment of the 2019 class in stretch four, top ten Matthew Hurt. Hurt is ranked 10 by ESPN and 9th by 247 sports. Hailing from Rochester, MN – Hurt is the prototypical stretch 4 with both an inside and outside game. Hurt provides an element of outside shooting that was lacking in this past years squad. Hard as it is to compare players Hurt could be a Ryan Kelly type in the Duke offense and the more I see tape on him I compare his skillset (not skill-level) to Dirk Nowitzski. A player that plays with good pace, Hurt is an adept passer with a high basketball IQ. He will pair well with the parts that Duke has coming in and holdovers from last years elite 8 squad.

Hurt will join shooting guard Boogie Ellis, center Vernon Carey and small forward Wendell Moore. Duke still has targets left in the class with one possible addition coming Monday for Cassius Stanley a dynamic swing guard out of the West Coast.
