Coach K and the Duke Staff secured its second commitment in the 2015 class with an announcement today by 6’11 Bishop Gorman power forward Chase Jeter that he will attend Duke. Jeter chose Duke over UCLA, UNLV, Arizona and Cal. Jeter joins Luke Kennard in Duke’s 2015 class. If you are a rankings junkie Jeter is rated in the top 10-15 in most recruiting services. Chase would enter a post Jahlil Okafor lineup with the remaining bigs most likely Amile Jefferson who goes 6’9, 7’0 Marshall Plumlee and 6’9 Sean Obi.
Chase is a true low post threat with a bevy of moves to get to the basket, he is very good at working the angles and is patient yet fluid when posting up. Jeter has also extended his range and will be extremely effective as a pick & pop player. Jeter has been compared in terms if style to a Tim Duncan type of player who runs the floor has good post moves is very long and can affect shots with that length and is a threat with his mid-range jump-shot. Here is a short video I did showing some similarities in their (Duncan & Jeter) styles.
