Coach in waiting Jon Scheyer has reeled in his first commitment as a head coach in 2022 four-star Kyle Filipowski. At 6’11 and 235lbs Filipowski brings size to the Blue Devils and a deadly shooting touch. His combination of size + skill at 6’11 with the ability to stretch the floor from distance will fit in nicely with Duke’s system. Kyle is the ideal first commit that should open the floodgates for the 2022 class.
Kyle has the versatility to be used at a number of positions sort of a combo forward who you can pair with a small forward or another big. That versatility gives Duke options as far as who to recruit around the Massachusetts native. Filipowski held offers from Iowa, Kentucky, Michigan, Indiana and Syracuse among others and his currently ranked in the top 40 nationally and swiftly ascending.
