Scheyer Does it Again

Duke and Coach Jon Scheyer strike again on the recruiting trail, striking for the 3rd time in the 2026 class and garnering a commitment from forward Cameron Williams. Williams, one of the top forwards in the 2026 class, chose the Blue Devils over his hometown Arizona Wildcats.

What Duke is Getting

#4 according to 247Sports, #8 according to on3 and #3 according to ESPN, the commitment of Williams gives Duke a player that I’m not sure there’s a comp for in Blue Devil lore. Standing 6’10-11, Williams isn’t a center, but a very skilled forward with range. He possesses great touch around the rim and can out the ball on the floor very well relative to his size. What has impressed me most about Williams is both his ability to pick and pop offensively and his mid-range game. Defensively he’s an excellent shot-blocker and rebounder and his versatility will fit in great with what Jon Scheyer and Duke love in terms of players. His ability to move his feet will make him a great fit with Duke’s switching defense, whether he’s at the 4 or the 5.

What's Next?

Cameron Williams joins a recruiting class featuring 5-Star wing Bryson Howard and 4-star big man Maxime Meyer. Duke is also currently recruiting guard Deron Rippey Jr. and guard Jordan Smith Jr.
