Coach K and the Duke Blue Devils secured a 2020 commitment from 7'0 Center Mark Williams out of IMG Academy. Williams is rated a 4 star recruit and is currently teammates with Blue Devil commit Jalen Johnson. Williams chose the Blue Devils over Michigan and UCLA.

Williams joins a big class for Duke that includes Jalen Johnson, Jeremy Roach, DJ Steward, Jaemyn Brakefield and Henry Coleman. The Blue Devils are still vying for the services of another 7 footer in Hunter Dickinson out of Maryland who some see as a Notre Dame lean. Williams, if Duke cannot garner another commitment, would be the only player above 6'8 projected to be on the roster.

Duke is expected to lose Vernon Carey, Matthew Hurt to the draft and graduate both Jack White and Javin DeLaurier.

Williams brings more than size to the future Blue Devil lineup, he brings a high motor. He's a big that runs the floor and finishes. He could benefit greatly from the passing acumen of Jeremy Roach and Jalen Johnson. He also provides a rim protector for the Blue Devils who can help trigger the fast break. Duke hasn't had a player with those attributes in a very long time. He's a huge pickup literally and figuratively for Coach K and the Blue Devils.
