Duke University Vice President and Director of Athletics Nina King has been named by Women Leaders in Sports to its Board of Directors for 2023-24.
Women Leaders in Sports is the only nationally recognized professional membership organization whose mission is to develop, connect, advance, and champion women leaders working in sports. Women Leaders provides career and leadership training, access to a powerful network, and the resources to advance women at every stage of their careers.
King, named Duke’s Vice President and Director of Athletics in May 2021 after 13 years on the department’s executive leadership team, joins Candace Campbell Jackson, Senior Vice President and Chief of Staff at Syracuse University, Chrissi Rawak, Director of Athletics, Community, and Campus Recreation at University of Delaware, and Jennifer Williams, Chief Development Officer for the USA Basketball Foundation as new members on the Board of Directors.
Meg Stevens, Vice President and Director of Athletics and Campus Operations at Averett University, serves as the Women Leaders President. Gloria Nevarez, Commissioner of the Mountain West Conference, is the president-elect, with each of the newly-selected board members beginning four-year terms in 2023-24.
The Women Leaders in Sports Board of Directors consists of 15 members and ex-officio members whose responsibility is to support the organization’s mission, values, and purpose; ensure adequate resources, legal and ethical integrity; and maintain accountability.
