With the start of the college basketball season less than 20 days away, the 2023-24 Duke men’s and women’s basketball teams make their debut Friday during the annual Countdown to Craziness event at Cameron Indoor Stadium.
Countdown to Craziness features a night of entertainment, games, engaging videos and on-court contests all leading up to the introduction of the 2023-24 Blue Devils and the annual Blue-White scrimmage.
The festivities begin at 4 p.m. in Krzyzewskiville, adjacent to Cameron Indoor Stadium, with a Fan Fest that is free and open to the public. The Fan Fest will include several local food trucks, a live band – “Infinity City,” a beer garden, inflatables, and outdoor basketball court. The women’s team will appear in Fan Fest at 5:15, with the men’s team appearing at 6:15.
Doors to Cameron open at 6:30 p.m., with the programming inside beginning at 7. Head coach Kara Lawson’s women’s team will be introduced at 7:15 with a scrimmage to follow. At 8, head coach Jon Scheyer’s men’s team is introduced with the Blue-White scrimmage set for 8:30. Each head coach will address the crowd after the team introductions.

The Duke men open the regular season versus Dartmouth on Monday, Nov. 6 at Cameron Indoor Stadium. Prior to the start of the regular season, Duke hosts UNC-Pembroke in an exhibition game on Wednesday, Nov. 1 at 7 p.m.
The Duke women unwrap the 2023-24 season with an exhibition game against Wingate on Saturday, Nov. 4 at 1 p.m., before welcoming Richmond to Cameron Indoor Stadium for the home opener on Monday, Nov. 6 at 11 a.m.
