Coach K and the Duke Blue Devils have secured what will most likely be the final piece of their 2016 recruiting class. Harry Giles, the 6’10 consensus number 1 player in the class committed to the Devils today after a very long recruiting effort by some the games elite basketball schools. Giles chose Duke over Kentucky, Kansas and his hometown Wake Forest Demon Deacons. Harry Giles provides an already stellar class with punch, Giles is a volume rebounder and scorer and is fleet footed for a power forward, he’s also able to step out and hit the mid-range jumper. Pairing Giles with Jayson Tatum another volume scorer and shooter will make Duke formidable. Duke should still have athletic center Chase Jeter in the front court alongside Giles and Javin DeLaurier will provide ample energy and bounce as well. Also committed to Duke is athletic combo guard Frank Jackson who brings a dynamic scorer and shooter to the backcourt.
Giles will spend his senior campaign rehabbing a small tear in his right ACL that knocked him out for the season at his new school Oak Hill. Giles will join a class that includes his good friend small forward Jayson Tatum, power forward Javin DeLaurier and guard Frank Jackson.
