On June 28, 2018, sports reporter John McNamara was gunned down along with four of his colleagues by a mass shooter at the offices of the Capital Gazette in Annapolis.
Andrea Chamblee, McNamara’s wife, is attempting to change the narrative around her husband from victim to what he was in this area, a sportswriting legend. The release of his book, “The Capital of Basketball”, after more than a decade of work chronicles the history of High School Basketball in Washington D.C. area.
