DURHAM, N.C. – The John R. Wooden Award presented by Wendy’s has announced its Late Season Top 20 Watch List, which included Duke freshmen RJ Barrett and Zion Williamson.
The nation’s highest scoring duo at 45.0 points per game, Barrett and Williamson are the ACC’s two leading scorers at 23.0 and 22.0 points, respectively. The tandem has helped lead No. 2 Duke to a 20-2 start, and a share of the ACC lead at 8-1. Four schools have two players chosen on the list as Duke joins Nevada (Jordan Caroline and Caleb Martin), Tennessee (Admiral Schofield and Grant Williams), and Virginia (Guy and De’Andre Hunter).
The ACC leads all conferences with five selections; followed by the Big Ten with four; the Big 12, Big East, Mountain West, and SEC with two selections apiece; and the Ohio Valley, Summit League, and WCC with one each.
