DURHAM, N.C. โ€“ Sophomore forward Semi Ojeleye has decided to leave Duke University, school officials announced Sunday. Ojeleye departs Duke in good academic standing and is expected to transfer to another Division I school.

A 6-8, 230-pound forward from Ottawa, Kan., Ojeleye has appeared in six games this season, averaging 3.0 points and 2.3 rebounds per game while shooting 5-of-18 from the field and 4-of-7 from the free throw line. As a freshman, Ojeleye played in 17 games and averaged 1.6 points and 0.9 rebounds per game while shooting 7-of-14 (.500) from the field, 4-of-7 (.571) from three-point range and 10-of-11 (.909) from the free throw line. He scored a career-high 10 points against UNC Asheville last season and grabbed five or more rebounds two times at Duke.

โ€œWe want to thank Semi and his family for their commitment to the Duke program for the last year and a half,โ€ said head coach Mike Krzyzewski. โ€œHe has been an excellent student and a great representative of our school and basketball program. He has been granted a full release and we definitely wish him the best.โ€

Duke, ranked second in the Associated Press and USA Today Coaches Polls, is 8-0 on the year with a pair of wins over ranked opponents. The Blue Devils, winners of the 2014 Coaches vs. Cancer Championship, return to action Monday, Dec. 15 against Elon (7 p.m. โ€“ ESPNU).
