Duke senior men’s basketball forward Joey Baker has been selected to compete in an overseas tour with USA East Coast Basketball this summer. The tour is set for Spain in early August.
USA East Coast Basketball was founded in 2006 and has fielded teams of collegiate players for summer exhibition games since that time. This summer, USA East Coast Basketball will field three teams — Red, White and Blue — that will compete in exhibition games in Valencia and Barcelona, Spain, against opponents from the host country and France.
Baker will play for the Red Team, that includes Buddy Boeheim and Jimmy Boeheim from Syracuse, Dajuan Harris from Kansas and Patrick McCaffery from Iowa among its 10-man roster. The Red Team head coach is NBA Hall of Famer Larry Brown. Baker and the Boeheim brothers are the lone representatives from the ACC among the three squads.
The group will convene on July 31 at Manhattan College for practice sessions prior to traveling to Spain from August 1-9.
