The 2022-23 Duke men’s basketball team will debut Friday night when the program hosts Countdown to Craziness at Cameron Indoor Stadium, marking the first official home event under head coach Jon Scheyer.
Countdown to Craziness features a night of entertainment, games, engaging videos and on-court contests all leading up to the introduction of the 2022-23 Blue Devils, the unveiling of this season’s team poster and the annual Blue-White scrimmage.
The festivities begin at 3:30 p.m. in Krzyzewskiville, adjacent to Cameron Indoor Stadium, where fans can enjoy various activities, music and games. The Duke players will arrive to Cameron via a Blue Carpet entrance in Krzyzewskiville at 5:45 p.m. where fans can get pictures and videos of their favorite Blue Devils. Doors to Cameron open at 6 p.m., and the annual Blue-White scrimmage is set to tip off at approximately 8:30 p.m. Fans are encouraged to arrive early to alleviate congestion at the main entrances.
Coach Scheyer will address the crowd during the men’s basketball scrimmage, while women’s head coach Kara Lawson will speak after her squad is introduced at approximately 7:25 p.m.
Countdown to Craziness will broadcast live on ACCNX with Chris Edwards on the call, beginning at 8 p.m. ET. Live radio coverage can also be heard across the Blue Devil Sports Network from LEARFIELD.
Fans should note the new Clear Bag Policy, that will be in effect this season at Cameron Indoor Stadium, beginning Friday. All bags and purses must be clear plastic, vinyl, or PVC and no larger than 12″ x 12″ x 6″ – including bags for medical and/or childcare needs. Small clutches/wallets (with or without a strap) that fit in the palm of the hand (no larger than 8″ x 5″ x 1″) and one (1)-gallon clear plastic bags are also permitted. Students may bring a hip pack sized bag that is attached to the body and/or wallets/clutches that fit in the palm of the hand.
Duke opens the regular season versus Jacksonville on Monday, Nov. 7 at Cameron Indoor Stadium. Prior to the start of the regular season, Duke hosts Fayetteville State in an exhibition game on Wednesday, Nov. 2 at 7 p.m.
Recruiting wise 2023 commits Sean Stewart & Mackenzie Mgbako will be in attendance as well and recruit Dylan Harper.
