Per Duke Comms:

Duke center Kyle Filipowski earned the Lute Olson National Player of the Week award from CollegeInsider.com for his historic performance during the Blue Devils’ 2-0 week, becoming the first ACC player in the last 25 years to have consecutive games with at least 25 points, 10 rebounds and four made 3-pointers.

In two Duke wins, Filipowski averaged 28.0 points, 11.5 boards, 2.5 assists and 1.5 blocked shots per contest, while shooting 58.3% (21-of-36) from the field and 88.9% (8-of-9) from long distance.

Against Pittsburgh (Jan. 9), the Westtown, New York, native registered 26 points and 10 rebounds, making 11-of-12 field goals, including all four threes, marking the best shooting performance by a Blue Devil with at least 10 attempts since Zion Williamson finished 13-of-13 against Syracuse on March 14, 2019.

In a comeback triumph over Georgia Tech (Jan. 13), Filipowski amassed a career-high 30 points with 13 boards (seven offensive caroms), four assists, two blocked shots and two steals without committing a turnover, becoming the first Duke player with a 30-point double-double and no turnovers in the past 40 seasons.

Also last week, CollegeInsider.com announced Filipowski to the Lute Olson National Player of the Year mid-season watch list.

Among ACC leaders, Filipowski currently ranks fifth in scoring (18.2 points per game), fourth in rebounding (8.9 boards per game), fourth in blocked shots (1.9 blocks per game) and eighth in field goal percentage (.517).
