There is still a long way to go before the class of 2016 is in the rear view mirror but with more than half of the ESPN top 100 having already committed and looking at the early results, the ACC is looking stellar. So far the ACC is leading in commitments in the ESPN top 100 (2016 class) with 13 so far. Paced by, Florida State and UVA with 3 commitments apiece there are still tons of recruits eyeing ACC schools in their recruitment. N.C. State is in line for a number of top 100 players including Dennis Smith Jr. and Bam Adebayo – number 4 and 6 according to ESPN rankings. Florida State is still in the mix for Udoka Azubuike, number 22 according to ESPN. UNC who has been under a cloud of possible sanction worthy violations even inked a top 30 player in the 2016 class in Tony Bradley. Duke is still in the hunt for several players including the number 1 player in the class Harry Giles, Marques Bolden and Wenyen Gabriel.
Eyeing the 49 players (as of today) left on the board I can see the possibility for at least 6 more names to end up at ACC schools and possibly more. It’s conceivable that the top 10 classes could contain multiple ACC teams and at this rate it seems more than likely.
Breakdown so far:
Florida State 3
Virginia 3
Duke 2
Syracuse 2
Louisville 1
Notre Dame 1
UNC 1
