My Version of Coach K’s Recruiting Success Map

Brian HoraceGeneral Information, Recruiting2 Comments

I tried to create a map outlying the areas of greatest success in Coach K’s tenure at Duke. It should be mostly accurate going back to 82, it’s not scientific and I may have missed one or two. I went by the location of the high school. Twas a judgement call, my map, my rules. One case that was particularly hard was the Plumlees – from Indiana and Mason went to high school there before transferring to a NC school. I counted him as a NC recruit. Feel free to let me know any errors you may see or ask questions about a particular recruit as I still have my data.

  1. Very cool post, thanks. Do you have any data on offers? I’d be interested in seeing rates of return on recruiting visualized.

  2. It would probably be only possible to do more recent recruits in terms of offers, not sure I could go very far back to find offers. Not sure those are recorded anywhere but would be interesting.
