Rising sophomore Rodney Hood will be visiting the Duke campus this week (June 14-15) and if you believe the rumor mill he is a shoe in to become a Devil. Hopefully we’ve all learned from the past to not count those chickens until they are on your fork. As with any recruit or transfer information leaking most likely is not coming from the one place you can believe, and while I would love to see Rodney in Duke blue we will have to wait and see.
The 6-8 forward has visited Ohio State, Memphis and Baylor and with Duke next, most think the process is winding down, one dark horse for Hoods services is Florida State which some think are making a strong play.
Hood was a highly coveted player coming out of high school but was not offered by the Devils at at the time, Duke could certainly make amends for that if they were to land Hood this off-season, he would bring much needed depth in practice and be a heavy contributor after his mandatory red-shirt. Wherever Hood does land he is expected to be one of the top players in the country, having averaged 10 points, 4 rebounds and 2 assists per game for Mississippi State Hood was named to the SEC All Freshman team.
