The Duke men’s basketball program will offer an exclusive gift to its worldwide fan base on Friday night, with the premier of “Countdown: The Movie” live on the team’s DukeMBB YouTube channel at 8 p.m. ET.

The movie was produced by the @DukeMBB Creative Team to replace the team’s Countdown to Craziness, which is an annual preseason fan favorite at Cameron Indoor Stadium that was canceled this season by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Special guest and former two-time National Player of the Year JJ Redick narrates the 30-minute film, which includes some of best the off-court moments from the 2020-21 squad as they prepare for what will be one of the most unusual seasons in college basketball history.

The film is highlighted by the individual player introductions and the unveiling of the team’s 2020-21 season poster. The movie ends with shout-outs from past members of The Brotherhood. The Blue Devils were presented a special screening of the film with a Blue Carpet event this past Saturday night at the JB Duke Hotel on campus.

In place of the Blue-White scrimmage, which is the centerpiece of Duke’s Countdown to Craziness event, the Blue Devils have held two closed scrimmages at Cameron Indoor, with another set for Friday night. Highlights of each of the first two can be viewed here (Scrimmage #1 and Scrimmage #2).

Preparations for the 2020-21 continue, and Duke is set to open the season on Wednesday, November 25 versus Gardner Webb at Cameron Indoor Stadium. The game tips at 8 p.m. ET on ACC Network.
