Today Through March 5; NFTs Coincide with Final Regular Season Game

March 3, 2022

NEW YORK –  For a limited time beginning today, Duke Athletics’ first NFT collection will be available for purchase on OneOf, the multi-chain platform revolutionizing sports, lifestyle, and music blockchain collectibles and experiences. The collection runs from today through March 5, coinciding with Duke’s final regular season game on March 5 vs. North Carolina.

For 117 seasons, Duke has stood for excellence in men’s basketball and been part of some of college basketball’s most legendary moments. Widely considered the gold standard program in the sport, the Blue Devils have amassed more than 2,200 victories, 21 Atlantic Coast Conference titles, 16 Final Four appearances and five NCAA championships. At the end of this season, the program says goodbye to Mike Krzyzewski, the winningest coach in college basketball history who has led the Blue Devils since 1980.

Go to OneOf’s Duke Basketball: Celebrating Excellence drop for more information.

In celebration of the final regular season and historic game, Duke Men’s Basketball is releasing its first NFTs. The NFT drop consists of four tiers (Gold, Platinum, Diamond, and Championship), with each tier highlighting a different aspect of Duke Athletics.

Gold-Tier NFT Game Ticket

  • An animated gold NFT, stylized to represent the March 5 final game ticket.

Platinum-Tier NFT Game Ticket

  • A platinum animated version of the ticket that honors Duke’s student supporters, the “Cameron Crazies.” This tier is only available to the final home game attendees (via QR code scan at venue) and season ticket holders (via e-mail).

Diamond-Tier NFT Game Ticket

  • A Duke Blue metallic animated version of the final home game ticket. Each NFT comes with a pair of tickets to a mutually agreed upon game next season (except for the Duke-North Carolina game in Durham).

Championship-Tier NFT Championship Rings

  • Five unique 3-D animated versions of each of Duke’s National Championship rings won since 1991. These extremely limited NFTs represent the first time that the championship rings have ever been merchandised. Each individual buyer will receive a 3/5/22 commemorative physical basketball personalized and signed by Coach K, alongside a photograph of Coach K signing the merchandise.

As with all OneOf’s NFT collections, a portion of the proceeds from the NFTs will go directly to a charitable cause. This drop will support Krzyzewski’s nonprofit organization located in Durham, N.C., The Emily K Center, which equips students with the skills necessary to successfully complete higher education and become agents of change within their communities.

OneOf’s first venture into college athletics, the Duke Athletics NFT launch is the latest in a string of exciting 2022 news for the company. It also includes the platform’s recently announced Sports Illustrated covers series that celebrates superstar athletes including Muhammad Ali, Shaquille O’Neal, Emmitt Smith, Jerry Rice and more, as well as new major music partnerships with Warner Music Group and The Grammy Awards.
